With a New Year here, all of our clients are asking about what's new in hair trends. Thought it would be fun to share some of the new looks with everyone. 2012, hair is all about revivals and evolution. With styles and colours we’re seeing the best of 2011 reborn, whereas cuts are offering reworked and luxurious revivals of styles that sit perfectly with the year’s clothing trends.
Below are a few of the trends that we have been noticing.
Long & bouncy
Described as a gorgeous blow-out the bouncy blow dry gives long hair a groomed, elegant yet relaxed finish. Inspired, in part, by the 70s fashion revival but working across most of 2012′s looks, you can can come in and have one of our talented staff do a Bumble and Bumble Blow out on you it can last up to a week! This bouncy blow dry ensures that you have the optimum bounce in the roots and the soft waves to frame your face.
French twist
Given that classic fashion revivals define 2012, it should come as no surprised to find that classic hairstyles also go a long way to defining the year. Equally of no surprise is the fact that the French Twist will be big this year. Love the classic look of this!
Mod bob
Short. Voluminous. Messy. This is the 2012 women’s hairstyle that marries a short hair cut with the best of the 1960s fashion revival to create the Mod Bob
that’s been inspired by the likes of Brigitte Bardot and Twiggy. So Cute!
Believe it or not Gray! Yes Gray!
Probably one of the most surprising colors that we are seeing is gray. Believe it or not, women are seeing this once dreaded shade through a whole new set of eyes. One of the hottest trends is “Gray lights” and white/gray bases. These colors have become very popular with affluent trendsetters and models and the movement is beginning to trickle down to the average person. Pop singer Pink and model Kate Moss are just two of the many women that are trying out this new look and loving it.
Hope you enjoyed our 2012 preview. We will be sharing more soon. Just wanted to show you some of our favorites!
Happy New Year!
